Collection relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Stanislaus Acton Nunan, No. 1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, Australia, Egypt, England, At sea, Arabia and France, c.1916-1919.

Collection contains 66 letters from Lieutenant Stanislaus Acton Nunan to his family including his parents, John Francis and Frances Winifred Nunan, and his siblings, Martha Ella Nunan, William Francis Nunan, and James Clarence Mangan Nunan. Collection also includes Lieutenant Nunan's pilot's flying log book, messages, signals, letters and combat reports, service papers, souvenir programmes for the Roman Catholic Soldiers Congress, newspaper clippings of various articles on the achievements of the men of the Australian Flying Corps, Christmas dinner menus, list of vocabulary of the Beduin dialect, poetry by his sister Martha, and copies of aerial photographs. Collection also includes photographs of the Nunan family, including the places he visited on recreational leave, and other photos relating to his service in the AFC.
