Collection relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Stanislaus Acton Nunan, No. 1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, Australia, Egypt, England, At sea, Arabia and France, 1916-1917.

Collection contains 45 letters from Lieutenant Nunan to his family, February 1916 - January 1917. Subjects include: military training; weather in England; business interests; troops movements and casualties on the Western Front; food and food preparation; conditions at military camp; leave and recreation; attending religious services including Catholic Masses; health and wellbeing; embarking for France; romance and relationships; maps; Christmas and Red Cross parcels; illness and contagious diseases; transfer to the Australian Flying Corps; and departing Alexandria for the Suez after completing pilot training.
