Description
Brown cotton shoulder strap with a narrower strap underneath. Each strap has a buttonhole at the neck end to allow them to be attached to the uniform. The strap bears three oxidised rank pips for a captain and a curved a 'AUSTRALIA' title.
History / Summary
Worn by VX58783 Captain (Sister) Wilma Oram of 2/13 Australian General Hospital. She was a prisoner of war of the Japanese on Sumatra. This shoulder strap was probably one issued to her to wear on the grey safari jacket she wore after her release from captivity in 1945.
