Waller, Mervyn Napier (Bombardier, 111th Howitzer Bty AIF b.1893 - d.1972)
Description
Collection relating to the service of Bombardier Mervyn Napier Waller. Original diary with regular daily entries, some pages missing, includes watercolour, pen and ink and annotated pencil sketches. Waller complains of never ending mud and cold. His handwriting changes noticeably after the loss of his right arm due to severe wounds gained at Bullecourt. Also included is a Foreword (to the diary) written by The Chaplain; and a letter to Waller from Alfred Harris, dated 13 September 1917 from France.
