Group portrait of four Australian soldiers. Identified, front row, seated right: 3738 Private (Pte) James Frederick Eden, 13th Battalion. One of four brothers who served in the First World War, Pte Eden died of pulminory influenza in Sydney, NSW, on 4 October 1920. His brother, 6749 Pte George Eden, died of wounds in France in 1918. Their brothers 4831 Pte Henry Robert Eden and 5074 Pte John George Eden survived the war. The other three soldiers are most likely from the same unit, however their identities are unknown.
