QX6542 Captain Colin William Clerk Dossetor, of the 6th Division, Royal Australian Engineers, met up with an Australian soldier with the same surname, NX53578 Lieutenant Ted Dossetor, Australian Engineers Training Battalion, (left), outside one of the tents. Captain Dossetor later served with the 1st Australian Paratroop Battalion and he was accidentally killed on 23rd August 1943 when making an experimental parachute jump and landed in the Cataract Dam in NSW and drowned. His brother, VX15789 Sgt Oliver R C Dossetor had been killed in action on 24 June 1941, while serving with 2/14th Battalion in Syria.
