Collection relating to the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War service of Sub-Lieutenant Douglas Munro, HMAS 'Swan', Royal Australian Navy, Russia, 1918.

Wallet 1 of 1 - This wallet contains typescript copies of entries from the diary of Sub-Lieutenant Douglas Munro during the mission to southern Russia of the HMAS 'Swan', Royal Australian Navy and the French destroyer 'Bisson', Russia, December 1918. The is diary entitled 'Diary of the mission to the Don country, 1918'. The entries cover the period 4-15 December 1918. In them, Munro describes leaving Sevastopol, travelling to Rostov and the territory controlled by the Don Cossacks. He describes the reception given to the mission, the military situation, and Orthodox mass. The entries end as the mission returns to Sevastopol.

The date of the copying is unknown. The wallet also includes a memeograph copy of the typescript.
