Description
Letters relating to the First World War service of Brigadier General Harold Edward Elliott, 15th Brigade. Some of the letters were censored by Pompey, and later his daughter Violet prior to donation removing details of a personal nature. The letters cover January 1916 - June 1916 detailing; his injured ankle; the hard work of his men and his desire to please them; digging trenches; his new role; getting gifts for his wife from Cairo; his love for his children; the death of his men; playing tug-o-war and doing relay races with his men; the boat trip through the coast of Greece.
