Diary of Henry 'Harry' Langtip, 1917
Description
Diary relating to the First World War service of 2347 Staff Sergeant Henry 'Harry' Langtip, 4th Light Horse Regiment. In this diary, written between 1 January 1917 and 31 December 1917, Langtip documents his active service in the Sinai and Palestine, including the charge at Beersheba that took place on 31 October 1917. He also details the subsequent pursuit of the Turkish forces into Transjordan. He continued to serve with 4th Light Horse Regiment, as did his brothers 2348 Sergeant Leslie Langtip, 2346 Sapper Bertie Langtip and 2345 Sapper Ernest Langtip.
