Description

This folder contains nine speeches, addresses, army orders and official army despatches compiled between 20 May 1915 and 1919. The contents of this file were written by Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood, General Sir Ian Hamilton, the Mayor of Lille, and Lord Northcliffe. Some of the subjects covered in this material include the landing at Gallipoli, Birdwood’s leadership, the liberation of the French city of Lille, and Birdwood’s memories of the Anzacs at Gallipoli and in France.
