Description

A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Central Pacific, Guam, Saipan, Tinian, China-Hong Kong and Burma. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue reports the resignation of General Tojo as Prime Minister, the attempt to assassinate Hitler by a German colonel, differences of opinion in the High Command over operations in China and Burma, the fall of Saipan, the landing of the US Forces on Guam and Tinian, the air attack on Kyûshû and the situation in the South Pacific after the capture of Biak. Also reported are the complete defeat of the German forces at the eastern front, the advance of the Allied Forces in Italy, and the surrender of numbers of German soldiers to the Allied Forces.
