Corporal Charles Clifford Fairless
Description
Corporal Charles Clifford Fairless enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 31 July 1915 in Newcastle, New South Wales. From 6 March 1916 he served with the 45th Australian Infantry Battalion in Egypt. On 10 August 1916 he was posted to France, where he continued to serve with the Battalion in Europe. Corporal Charles Clifford Fairless was killed in action on 7 June 1918 in Messines, Belgium. He is commemorated at Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Flanders, Belgium.
