Commemoration of Sergeant Lewis McGee VC / Anthony Staunton
Abstract
Sergeant Lewis McGee was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. Until it was discovered that the incorrect date of his death was recorded on his grave. In this article the author describes the action for which Sergeant McGee was awarded the VC and how the incorrect date of his death was detected and finally corrected.
