Abstract
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lieutenant-General Edward Kenneth Smart's birthday in 1991. The author describes the military history of Lt-Gen Smart. This starts off with his service in the militia in 1910. The authors then goes onto describe Smart's First World War, in-between wars and Second World War military service. The author concludes by describing Smart's funeral in 1961 with full military honours.
