THE CROSS ERECTED ON THE BATTLEFIELD TO THE MEMORY OF OFFICERS, N.C.O'S. AND MEN OF THE 50TH BATTALION, A.I.F., WHO FELL IN THE COUNTER ATTACK WHICH RECAPTURED VILLERS BRETONNEUX ON 1918-04-24 TO 1918-04-25. THE CROSS WAS OBTAINED FOR THE AUSTRALIAN WAR MEMORIAL BY THE IMPERIAL WAR GRAVES COMMISSION.
