Description
Studio portrait of Second Lieutenant (2Lt) Jacques Montague D'Alpuget, 54th Battalion, of Woollahra, New South Wales (NSW). A bookkeeper and accountant before the war, he was a school athletic champion and represented NSW in football. D'Alpuget enlisted on 23 August 1915 and embarked from Australia on 9 April 1916 aboard HMAT Nestor. He was killed in action at Fleurbaix on 17 July 1916 aged 29, and is buried at Rue-Du-Bois Military Cemetery.
