Description

The steep cliffs at the back of Walker's Ridge taken from a low ridge just above the Engineers' dump near Walker's Pier, looking north east. The old dugouts can be seen under the cliffs and were occupied by the support troops to Walker's Ridge. The pine at left rear is similar in size and form to the original tree from which the outpost at Lone Pine drew its name. One of a series of photographs taken on the Gallipoli Peninsula under the direction of Captain C E W Bean of The Australian Historical Mission, during the months of February and March, 1919.
