Battle of Brisbane
Description
Believed to be started when Australian soldiers came to the aid of an American soldier being harassed by US military police.
The incident involved several thousand Australians - 1 was killed and at least 9 Australians and 11 Americans were seriously injured, many more suffered minor injuries. Isolated disturbances continued the next day.
Although often depicted as an anti-American riot, the main targets seem to have been the US military policemen.
