Reference image only to provide position detail for those named. This image is not for sale. A combined smith, carpenter, and general workshop manned by the 3rd Pioneer Battalion at Blangy Tronville. The workshops were erected by the Battalion on arrival at the village. All the machinery etc shown in use, was 'salved' from forward evacuated villages. During the time we were here, much dugout work was done, and timber (mining set etc) were practically unobtainable from dumps. To get over this and proceed with dugouts, members of the Workshop Party were set to work felling timber. This was then floated down the canal, to the Workshops, cut into lengths, and sent forward. The electric lights were run by a small dynamo worked by the steam engine to the left. Identified: unidentified (1); Lieutenant S. Johnson (2); 225 J. Johnstone (3); 269 Private (Pte) J. E.
