Description

A memorial to the officers and men of the 2nd Australian Division who fell at the taking of Pozieres Ridge, in July to August 1916. It was erected by the 7th Field Company of Australian Engineers in May 1917. The cross was made at the Mealte Workshops and the stonework done by Corporal Bradshaw [2651 2nd Corporal Frederick Charles Fleet Bradshaw, died of wounds 16 October 1917]. The officer standing on the right is Lieutenant Wilkins, Official Photographer. This is an original Paget Plate negative. The same image is available in colour and is held at P03631.180.
