Armed with a 7.62mm L1A1 self loading rifle (SLR), 4/1725 Private (Pte) Graham George Tanner (left), aged 27, of Woodville, SA, B Company, 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), conducting a security check as he inspects the pass of an unidentified Malayan employee (right with bicycle) at the main entrance to the B Coy base camp at Sungei Siput, Northern Malaya. Pte Tanner was formerly a salesman in civilian life and he served in Korea with 1RAR between 1955 and 1956. He has been with 1RAR in Malaya for the past 11 months.
