Description
Diary of a Chinese soldier, Chungshan Zhang, written in 1950. Zhang was found by a party of Australian soldiers from 2 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (2 RAR) near the 38th Parallel in 1953. Zhang's entries, written in Chinese, document an undercover mission with his platoon in the Ling Dong area. Later entries include song lyrics and a draft of an unfinished letter to his family. Other items kept with the diary include a pay book and six photographs.
