Slouch hat : Chaplain C W Dillon
Description
Fur felt slouch hat with a khaki cotton puggaree. The left brim of the hat has a press stud to attach it to the side of the crown. Four small ventilator holes in the crown are reinforced with brown eyelets. The brown leather sweatband is impressed 'V553 61/2 1942'.
History / Summary
Worn by NX147635 Chaplain Cecil William Dillon. Chaplain Dillon served at St Andrew's Church of England parish in Strathfield, NSW and on enlistment in the AIF joined units in the Northern Territory, including a period at Larrimah. Chaplain Dillon was discharged on 13 March 1946, with the rank of Captain, from HQ 2 Aust Sup Bde.
