Claude Lyne
Description
Garvey's cartoon portrait of Claude Lyne, from a series of thirty-six pencil drawings made in Syria, Palestine and Lebanon in 1942 of members of 15 Platoon 'C' Company, 2/32 Battalion, Lebanon 1942. Lyne is drawn in right profile three quarter portrait aspect. He is in uniform without a hat and is holding what is possibly a cigarette in his right hand. Lyne was born in Kerang, Victoria on 15 June 1911. He enlisted at Kerang on 20 June 1940, serving as a Private in the Army, service number VX27032. He died on 3 September 1942.
