AFH-1 flying helmet
Description
Olive green AFH-1 flying helmet. The helmet has a single clear visor and internal black padded earphones. The helmet is padded on the inside with vinyl covered foam and secured by a padded cotton chin strap. A boom mounted 'M-87/AIC' microphone is attached to the left side. A makers label is attached to the inner right hand side. The top of the visor bears the remains of the word 'GRAY' in black ink.

This type of helmet was worn by Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and United States Air Force (USAF) flying personnel.
