March 20-25:Anti-draft Week
Description
Depicts a poster of a clenched raised fist. The accompanying text advertises a week of rallies, forums and speakers as a demonstration against conscription. The poster was issued by the Draft Resisters Union, formed in 1971. Their activities added militancy to the protest movement whose attention had shifted to the issue of conscription after the Gorton government had announced the withdrawal of Australian troops from Vietnam on the 18th August 1971.
