Description

A video interview with Ron Guthrie conducted at the Australian War Memorial. Guthrie speaks of his service background and experience, as well as training; his posting in No 77 Fighter Squadron RAAF and its operational role in Korea; the circumstances of his capture by the North Koreans; his treatment as a prisoner of war (POW); his attempted escape; the march to the prison camps along the Manchurian border where he was interned with other United Nations POWs; his release after two years as a prisoner of the Chinese Army.
