Description
Studio portrait of 2623 Private (Pte) Patrick Theodore Miller, 8th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Lithgow, NSW. Pte Miller enlisted on 25 May 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Makarini on 15 September 1915. On 3 June he received a bullet wound to the head and rejoined his unit on 4 August 1916. On 25 August 1916 sufferred from a shell contusion and shell shock. He returned to the 5th Battalion on 23 June 1917 and was commissioned as a lieutenant on 19 September 1917. He was killed in action on 28 December 1917 at Ploegsteert in Belgium.
