The spire of St Paul's Cathedral in the Maltese capital. This spire was used as an aerial lookout post during the Second World War; it was still used for the same purpose in aerial exercises when the photograph was taken. At the time 78 Fighter Wing RAAF was stationed in Malta for garrison duty.
