Description
Studio portrait of 2147 Private (Pte) Ernest Arthur Gibbs, 6th Reinforcements, 1st Battalion, of Sydney, NSW (originally of London, England). Pte Gibbs enlisted on 20 April 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Karoola on 16 June 1915. He was killed in action on 3 October 1917 at Polygon Wood near Ypres, Belgium.
