Description
Collection comprises two pages of typescript biographical notes detailing Chaplain William Wallace's birth, early childhood and chaplaincy in Australia, New Guinea, Japan and Korea; also a collection of eleven essays written by William Wallace describing some of his experiences while on active service. The Reverend Wallace saw extensive service with the Australian Imperial Forces in the South West Pacific Area (with 17 Infantry Brigade and 2/1 Field Regiment), with the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces in Japan (1947), with the Australian contingent in Korea and finally with the Australian Regular Army in the National Service scheme (1951-1958).
