The battle of the Atlantic
This British Second World war acts as an illustrated map depicting the Battle of the Atlantic. The poster positions the United Kingdom at the centre with aeroplanes flying out to create several concentric circles of for defence of the islands. The poster also depicts the different direction of shipping and other supplies. Examples include convoys to the Mediterranean and Russia, and convoys from Canada and the United States. Other features of the map include the sinking of Axis ships and submarines off the east coasts of both the United Kingdom and France. On England are positioned factories and aerodromes, highlighting that as the source of this production and airpower. Also featured is a small aerodrome in Iceland. In the bottom right corner is a text box that features information about the role and intent of the Axis U-boats and the ways in which the Atlantic Fleet is defending Britain from their wrath.
