Description

A promotional film on physical fitness in the Australian Army. Shows the training of Physical Training instructors at the School of Artillery at North Head, Sydney. Physical training activities include boxing, wrestling, athletics and a relay marathon run from Newcastle to Manly. The battle Physical Training course at the Jungle Warfare Training Centre at Canungra, QLD. A race in Army assault boats. A Citizen Military Force (CMF) Commandos training in unarmed combat, nine mile run in full kit and cliff running exercises at North Sydney Harbour. Environment Physical Training employing equipment and weapons by the 2 Cavalry Regiment at the annual inter squad competition. Shows the regiment's M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers in a cross country event, a tug of war with M113s, machine gun stripping and reassembly race, road wheel race and track race. The Eastern Command sailing club's yacht Balandra skippered by 237525 Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Starrett sailing in Sydney Harbour.
