Description
This poster was issued by the American foreign aid agency Russian War Relief Inc. in the months following the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941. It features a reproduction of a Soviet poster by Issak Rabichev and was published to engender support in the United States for the Soviet War effort. The focus of Rabichev's image is a stirring depiction of a heavily armed bearded Russian partisan. In the background to his left is a female partisan while to his right is a burning village with a silhouetted body hanging from a gallows. The image takes up the majority with the title positioned lower left to lower right beneath printed in black ink.
