The real Irish spirit...
First World War recruitment poster issued by the Central Council for the Organization of Recruiting in Ireland. It features a depiction of a newly enlisted infantryman in the left foreground. He is in uniform with his rifle slung over his shoulder and is looking behind him towards the right where another man dressed in civilian clothes is gesturing to him offering to join up too. The second man is an Irishman with shamrocks in his hat band. In the background is a Round Tower and a ruined abbey by a lake. In the foreground there are shamrocks growing. The title text is positioned in the centre top of the image printed in black cursive script and beneath the image printed in green ink. Both the image and text are set against a red background.
