Description

Peace Monitoring Group Bougainville patrols from Monitoring Team Arawa by Toyota Landcruiser and LCM8 operating in the central AO. Changing tyre on Landcruiser during MIST (Military Information Support Team.) Run to Vito village 15 June 2000. Shows Captain R. Holgate, Corporal Ian Briggs and Staff Sergeant John Tek. Staff Sergeant John Tek lowering the vehicle jack. Loading Landcruiser onto landing craft LCM8 22 June 2000. LCM8 docking, lowering ramp and preparing vessel at LST Loloho. The boat crew shown are Private Nathan Bond, Craftsman Robertson, Private Waldron, and Corporal Floyd. Landcruiser driven abord LCM8. Second Landcruiser driven aboard. Peace Monitoring Group Bougainville patrol from Monitoring Team Arawa conducts work party near Zeune Island and Koromira Village to assist local ex-combatants build a community centre. Shows ex-combatants from Koromira Village swim ashore to collect presawn timber beams to build a community centre. Beams transported from Zeune Island to Koromira by Peace Monitoring Group in LCM8 landing craft. Boat crewman Private Nathan Bond supervising loading. Ex-combatants load timber beams aboard LCM8 for transportation to Koromira Village. LCM8 arrives at Koromira Village (Koromira church is visible in the background). Ex-combatants unload timber at Koromira village.
