Description
Australian propaganda posters during the Second World War were used to instil anti-Japanese attitudes. Using racial stereotypes and derogatory humour the posters harboured fear and caution amongst Australian society. The top third of this poster depicts a Japanese man in tailcoat and trousers tipping his top hat in one hand and holding a dagger dripping with blood behind his back in the other hand. This poster implies that absenteeism from the workplace helps the enemy.
