Description
Original diary and transcript covering the period 19 February to 17 June 1942. Cape was Brigade Major of Sparrow Force 1942. The collection includes a paper written by Major General Cape in 1999 that comments on Chapter 3 of John Laffin's book, Special and Secret. Additional commentary (5 pages) on "Sparrow Force Timor 1942" by Major General Cape, giving brief history of Australian interest in Timor, military involvement in Second World War and Cape's personal service actions with "Sparrow Force" in Timor, 1942-1943.
