Collection relating to service of Lieutenant James Stanley Forbes Bartlett, 3 Battalion, Egypt and France, 1916. Collection includes a photocopy of Bartlett's diary kept from the time of leaving Australia and covers his training in Egypt and transfer to France. Photocopies made by Australian War Memorial 1928. Location of originals unknown.

Biographical note: 2nd Lieutenant James Stanley Forbes Bartlett, 3 Battalion, AIF. Killed in action, Pozieres, 25 July 1916. Age 31. Son of Stephen and Hannah Bartlett; husband of C. M. Bartlett, of Mildura, Barcaldine, Queensland. Born at Brisbane.
