Description
Papers of Corporal Alexander Connor documenting his service with the 2/15 Battalion during the Second World War. Connor was captured in 1941 and interned as a prisoner of war in Camp 57, Italy. Items in the collection include a paybook describing his internment by the Germans and a notebook with lists of prisoners who died in Camp 57; a photograph of Connor stamped at Stalag XVIIIA, Wolfsberg Austria, a narrative describing his return to Australia in 1945; and a book won as a raffle prize with the cover made from an Italian issue army shirt.
