Esler, Alan John (Flight Lieutenant, b.1921)
Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of O35066 (408645) Flight Lieutenant Alan John Esler, MID, 24 Sqn RAAF. Consists of correspondence and citations relating to the US Presidential Unit citation for service with the US Army Air Corps, and later his Mention in Despatches (MID). Flight Lieutenant Esler was awarded for distinguished service whilst flying with 19th Bomber Group USAAF in operations over New Guinea before transfer to 24th Squadron, RAAF.
