Copp, Charles Henry (Lieutenant, No. 2 Sqn AFC, d.1979)
Description
Collection relating to Lt Charles Henry Copp, 5 Battalion, 46 Battalion, and 2nd Squadron, AFC during the First World War. Collection consists of six diaries covering his service from his time of enlistment with the AIF in 1914, an encounter with SMS Emden, training and service in Egypt, landing at Gallipoli, and voyage to England for flying training in 1916. Copp transferred to the AFC in 1918. Also included in the collection are various notebooks and loose pages of notes and names and addresses; railway passes, receipts, a wedding invitation; four pay books; a flying log book; three sections of maps; and various certificates, including one from subsequent service in World War 2.
