Sharman, Sydney Arthur (Sergeant, b.1887 - d.1975)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 681 Sergeant Sydney Arthur Sharman, 9 Battalion, Gallipoli and France. Collection consists of two handwritten accounts of Sharman's service, based on his personal diary - one covers the period from enlistment to the evacuation of Gallipoli, the other covers the period 1914-15 and goes on to deal with Service in France up to 1917. Also included are pay books, and two photographs of him. Sharman survived the war and returned to Australia in 1919.
