Description

Duncan Butler, an ex-Parson records his war experiences from the time he set out for Timor at Christmas 1941 with A Company 2/12 Field Ambulance, "Sparrow Force". Captured by the Japanese at Tjamplong, Timor 23 February 1942. Moved to Java in September 1942 and to Singapore in January 1943. Thence by foot and truck to Changi. After some weeks sent to Thailand to work on the railway. Returned to Australia in October 1945.
