BORAM, NEW GUINEA. 1945-10-26. A NEW UNIT, 67 INFANTRY BATTALION, WAS FORMED FROM VOLUNTEERS IN THE WEWAK AREA TO BECOME PART OF THE BRITISH COMMONWEALTH OCCUPATION FORCE (BCOF). THE UNIT EMBARKED ON M.V. MANOORA FOR MOROTAI WHERE THE AUSTRALIAN COMPONENT OF BCOF COMPRISING 34 AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY BRIGADE GROUP IS BEING ASSEMBLED PRIOR TO DEPARTURE FOR JAPAN.
