KUMUIA YAMA, RABAUL AREA, NEW BRITAIN. 1945-09-17. INDIAN TROOPS PLACE THEIR FIRST QUARTER GUARD SINCE PEACE AT THE INDIAN PRISONER OF WAR CAMP. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD ONLY STICKS AS WEAPONS THIS GUARD WAS SMARTLY TURNED OUT AND A CREDIT TO ANY ARMY. THE MEN WERE LIBERATED BY AUSTRALIAN TROOPS AFTER THE JAPANESE SURRENDER.
