Studio portrait of 580 Private (Pte) Harry Hodgman, 5th Battalion from Melbourne, Victoria. A 23 year old salesman prior to enlisting on 17 August 1914, he embarked for overseas with F Company from Melbourne on 21 October 1914 aboard HMAT Orvieto. He landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915 and was killed in action later that same day. Pte Hodgman is buried in Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
