Description

Portrait of 15A Private (Pte) James Thomas Ball a hospital porter of Richmond, Victoria, who enlisted in the Army Medical Corps on 6 May 1915. He embarked on RMS Mooltan on 18 May 1915 and initially served in the Middle East with 1 Australian General Hospital. In July 1916 he was relocated to France via England and joined 2nd Field Ambulance on 3 October 1916. Pte Ball was accidentally killed on 13 February 1917, aged 26 years.
