Studio portrait on 3451 Private (Pte) Raymond Axford Adams, 26th Battalion. A farmer from Kilcoy, Qld prior to enlistment, Pte Adams embarked with the 8th Reinforcements from Brisbane on HMAT Kyarra on 3 January 1916. Whilst serving as Acting Sergeant in France he was reported as missing in action, but was subsequently found to have been killed in action at Pozieres on 5 August 1916, aged 34. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. (This is an uncropped image of the same person on H05742).
