NEW BRITAIN. 1945-05-01. WARRANT OFFICER I A.D. EDWARDS, SECOND MATE ABOARD THE AK82, A VESSEL ON STRENGTH OF THE 16 WATERCRAFT COMPANY, ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERS. HE IS A DIRECT DESCENDANT OF FLETCHER CHRISTIAN AND JOHN ADAMS, MEMBERS OF THE MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY. THE SOUTH COAST OF NEW BRITAIN LIES IN THE BACKGROUND AS TROOPS OF 27/52 INFANTRY BATTALION ARE TRANSPORTED TO WIDE BAY.
